Our guide, Tim, was accompanied by an apprentice guide, Agnes, and together they ensured fun, educational, and sightings-filled drives. Given the reserve’s hours, guests can fit in a morning-to-early afternoon drive and a late afternoon-to-early evening drive (i.e., two drives) each day. We enjoyed both, appreciating the crisp temperatures and morning light as well as refreshments during sunsets. Given our lack of preferences, Tim was comprehensive. For example, he located four (elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion) of the Big Five on one long drive. We were very pleased with not only the sightings, but also the expert narration that accompanied them. Tim’s scholarly approach really appealed to our inner nerds, and we would enthusiastically seek him out if we are ever so lucky to revisit.
